In a state of limbo

0 posted 2006-03-08 10:40 PM

Simple principles are never so simple,
Perspective invested in all our deceptions,
All our emotions being thrown into a depression,
In the state of being which bear the most mention.

In scrutiny lies the beauty of all our illusions,
When all of our skepticism is merely a delusion,
Millions of people acting in perfect collusion,
Until eventually, inevitably, there results a collision.
A clash of wills rules the day,
When everybody has something to say,
Yet they refuse to remove their mask,
And admit that their deceptions are a fake.

Ideas clutter about in the recesses of our mind,
We wait to spit them out of our lips ‘till the right time,
And when that time comes, lets see what we find,
A brushing of perspective, a rejection of compromise,
A failure to see the world through another’s eyes,
Despite the fact we look to the same sky,
It is impossible to speak to a different person and get the same reply.

Common sense is not entirely common,
All of the dimensions of all our senses,
Lay diminished by the senseless repetition,
Of world on edge, the ceaseless competition,
Even the ones who experience a premonition,
Are ill equipped to utilize their vision,
With all of the choices its impossible to make a decision
It is up to the individual to find the soul within.

If god exists than what is free will?
If choice does not exist, than where is the thrill?
Are we passive entities floating in the ether?
When the question is met with silence then what can we infer?
That god is dead, it was all in our heads?
That we live our lives according to our own volition?
Then we choose to fight over meaningless scraps,
We choose to buy pieces of crap,
Attach value to the inherently useless,
Choose to render each other unconscious with abuse,
And though our existence may not be a ruse,
Which is worse?
The world created and guided by god,
Or the world we have created to rest our souls upon?
