5342 Sharing Whispers 25 April 2006 Was there a moment of time to capture a heart in embrace This taking of her hand to dance as if heaven was in one room such to this celestial being Shall we dance in each others arms this place of harmony to a Ross land An unknown feeling to ponder Shall we dance and never let go When maybe truth was in a poets dreams and fiction was unto friction to ignite Flames to matches of a fantasy world only God could create on high This Canaan, as if an Antarctica of South the northern lights of the Yukon calling Oh to a prayer, oh to hope, oh to love Shall we dance and know of a whisper to share New Zealand sovereignty over the Ross Dependency, Antarctica, over 3000 kilometres south of New Zealand, was established in 1923. The New Zealand Antarctic territory, therefore, comprises the Ross Ice Shelf, the Balleny Islands, Scott Island and adjacent islands and the landmass within these longitudes to the point of their convergence at the South Pole. The Ross Dependency is constitutionally part of New Zealand, meaning anyone born there is a New Zealand citizen. Named from British Explorer, naval officer, (Sir) James Clark Ross, who lead an expedition to Antarctica in 1841, in finding a path through to ice of the Ross Sea, in discovering the Ross Ice Shelf. The British government took possession of the territory in 1923 and entrusted it to the administration of New Zealand. Neither the Russian Federation nor the United States of America recognizes this claim. With the establishment of the scientific bases of Scott Base (New Zealand) and McMurdo Station (USA) stationed in this region of Antarctica. this whole poem was based upon the words of "Shall we dance" a topic I utilized from a form of poets game in taking the topic and furnishing a poem around it then leaving another topic for the next person this is one activity, where many of my writings originate on another site a place that gave birth to over 1000 of my poems in the last 12 months and 500 so far in 2006 - and I have not slowed down as yet a poet who cares |
