Small Packages
~ Linda L. Dowd ~

It is said that “Big is better.”
~ But big has farther to fall.
Do not discount small packages,
~ For big can be smaller than small.

Small things may well surprise you,
~ With big treasures if you look.
You never know what is inside,
~ Because covers can belie the book!

Do not discount small packages,
~ Unwrap them and explore!
Take the time to look inside,
~ For often less is more!

“Oft times it is the deaf who truly see
and the blind who truly hear.”

Earth Angel, I've always heard dynamite comes in small packages! I'll have to show this to my 12 yr old son they call "Little Man!" He would definetly fit that discription! Enjoyed! :-)

Don't I know this to be true
for in my heart there are two
angels packaged with such glee
grandie girlies, Delaney
and little Landry~

You tweak my heartstrings~

"For often less is more"  Yes, Linda, most times it is and even a "look" can offer more than a diamond ring.

So very true your words are Linda.
I got a small package for Easter from the Bunny Hubby.

Goldenrose ~

Yes, to be sure. I learned this at a very young age. I was wishing for a big 3 foot doll for Christmas and was a tad disappointed when there was this itty bitty present under the tree instead. When I opened it up, there was the most beautiful ring with my birthstone set exquisitely in it!

Oh, and btw, my parents did buy me that big doll for my birthday! lol

Steve ~

If your "small" son is anything like his father, I'd wager that his spunk 'n spirit is bigger than a stick of dynamite!

mariae ~

I can well-imagine that this poem is a bit confusing for someone whose second language is English! It could be confusing for someone for whom English is their mother tongue!

Thanks for dropping by!

Warm hug and a big smile,
EA
