Shine On

I might get a little moon eyed,
star struck from time to time.
I might even get all poetic,
and write love letters,
like a nursery rhyme.

I've been known to get a little tounge tied,
or stick my foot ankle deep in my mouth.
When I meet a pretty lady,
from the East, West, North, or South.

Most always I rein in,
this lover's heart of mine.
While the taste of love and kisses,
are still fresh in my mind.

But sometimes love kicks me like a mule,
and I wake up in the middle of next week,
feeling like a fool.

Sometimes,
when she puts a tender hand upon my face,
I'll bet my last dollar,
on a three legged dog in a race.

And I can't tame her,
I've failed,
like every other fool that's ever tried.
Since I can't live without love,
I'll just take her in stride.

Love will always be welcome,
in this old foolish heart of mine.
Because at the stroke of midnight,
it will be the only thing to shine.

That's a good thing!!  I'm happy to see you posting such lovely and positive words!!  They touch me with some peace that I seem to be missing lately.

an open heart, always wins... beautifully expressed....

And so it those we live with
and should know who elude us
But we can still love them
we can love completely
without complete understanding

This sounds almost too familiar, shine on Steven
