Friends almost do not know it's me.
There's something going on...
I've stared writing poetry
and welcoming the dawn.
I do not mean just "being awake"
when the sun light shows in sky;
I say, "Hello" when daylight breaks.
"I'm glad that you stopped by !"

I sometimes just start twirling...
Spinning...  Dancing with the winds.
My fancy steps and whirlings
bewilder family and friends.
I've smelled a flower, at times, before...
There's nothing strange in this.
But lately... They are so adored...
I also give a kiss.

I've started kissing flowers !
I've started hugging trees.
I've talked to grass for hours
down on my hands and knees.
I shoot the breeze with birds in trees.
I chat with chattering squirrels.
Butterflies and honey bees
have joined me in my twirls.

With thunder storms... I drum along
Tapping rhythums when lightnings flash
The thunder accompanies my song
with a mighty cymbal crash.
And 'though it may come as a shock...
I have...  and it's a fact...
even started...   petting rocks.
Anything to interact !

I'm sure it's quite a startling sight
to see a hillbilly scarecrow twirl.
I just smile and say, "I love you !"
"Welcome to my world !"
I laugh when some think me daft or dumb.
I don't mind they think I'm touched.
There's no rule of thumb for what I've become.
My God !   I love this Life !   So much !

Yes..that's about how it starts all right.
Much enjoyed.

You know what?  You sound alot like me.  I'm glad to know I'm not the only one"touched"!  I love reading the enthusiasm for life within this poem!

Uriah, I LOVE your world!!!!! ~ I live in the same one! There is magic in your spirit and you are a delight to behold!

What you are experiencing is joy! Pure, simple, glorious, exhaultating, unpretentious, thankful, unadulterated JOY! I whirled and twirled right along with your up-lifting words!

There is joy to behold in the simplest of things! We make our own happiness through our appreciation of them!

Your poem is most assuredly being tucked away for safe-keeping and to be enjoyed from time to time whenever I may need a reminder that all is well in my world as well!

Hugs with love,
Linda

Uriah, I think The Angel about covered it!  This is a delight to read -- so uplifting, brought a smile to my face, Bro.   ....jo

Uriah, this absolutely rocked my world tonight! Thank you so much for writing it and sharing it with us! And pssst.. it's the rest of them who are daft for not feeling this way! We're the sane ones!

The soul would have no rainbows, had the eyes no tears.

In addition to an email from Karen (Serenity) this morning, this was my first read...as she, you two, have brought a greatness to Friday morning, March, 24th...and I smile with warmth inside, a little better, a little happier for this exceptional whimsical and insightful write.

Thank you

Well, you know of course that this is an "awakening" and that you will never again be the same as you were.  Loved your write!
