DRIVING TO WORK
13 December 2000

I look for you,
eager, colours of the morning bright,
in skirts and shirts
of pinks and blues and orange and yellow gold
and bold patterns that sing the praises of Mother Earth;
in branches twirling their dew-green leaves
to catch the light;
in sun-splashed roofs
of red and blue and terra cotta;
in robot dots;
in advert spots;
and your rainbows
explode my day.

Thanks for this, Caroline, and smiles at the "looking at the road" part.  To reassure you, I always do that too!

This is just delightful Diana and I love those...
"sun-splashed roofs
of red and blue and terra cotta."

A wonderful read.

We miss so many things because we don't look for them. Thanks for reminding me Owl! I love your words! :-)

Steven, you are right about missing out on so many good things if we don't look for them - like the way the early morning sun is painting light on the trunks of some of my trees in my indigenous forest, as I look through my window while typing - happy to have obliged.  Thank you for your kind words.
