Listening to every heart

They Don’t Hear

That moment when

there is not enough sun
for shadows to show,
they hide before moon’s debut
and spring scents
air with neutral wait as

some deep tawny
blends in delicate balance
between tree and ground
struck in statuesque pose

in that moment when
some intelligent nudge
of inner sense
knows

foot to pedal, break the speed
to slow, still…light roll…

There.

Two, no, three doe

stop the car

in silent motion
cross this curved road

into evening.

They don’t hear
my sigh.

Lovely. I saw them. I heard your sigh... did you hear mine?

Yes....it's the quiet, peaceful moments that by some luck we're permitted to share....those, not the loud excitement, make living what it is.

Sissie....wish we had such in our city...but we do just a few miles away.  You captured a place in between time with your sigh.

You captured that Kodak moment beautifully with your words. Thank you for sharing its sweetness.

This is beautiful. I use to see them before I moved back to the city.

Oh, oh, oh, I am going to hang this word-painting of the gentle does and the perfect backdrop on my heart.

They may not have heard your sigh, but I know they felt and understood it.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for this, Sunshine.

And I too was holding my breath.  Have had experiences with deer crossing here in Fla. and in Ct. both a heartbeat away.   But they are so beautiful and I know where I have to go slow while driving at night. Deer here in the golf course are slowly being pushed out and we see them in odd places now. Building is going full blast the last five years and causing strange things. Last week they had to tranquilize a large bear that was moving onto the area of the Daytona Bike week crowd. They had been watching this bear and just letting him roam.  He had a marker in him and they know he moved here from the Ocala National Forest.  He was swimming back and forth across the  Intra water way from beach side back to the other side.   He was on the beach side when they had to do this and take him back to the forest. He had been not too far from my son's house here in Palm Coast a few weeks ago. He  must be a strong and fast swimmer. Thanks for this Sunshine. Enjoyed it. martyjo

G'day Kailea.  A magic moment for sure.  All to sadly we see so much road kill here in outback Australia as Roadtrains go about there busy schedules.  I will post a rather humorous tale about travelling by caravan in the outback and hope you get a laugh out of it.  It is called 'Caravanning Mayhem.'

Cheers mate

How well I know this, and have had to slam on those brakes.  Why just this morning, I did it again, when a dog ran in front of me!

Great write, Sunshine.   I hope you are doing well.

Meant to cart this off to my library, but forgot to scan the barcode!  You couldn't have posted anything this morning that could have been more significant to me.
Thanks, Sunshine.
