Multitudes gather,
prepared to go forth
proclaiming their "truths".
Some, armed with "Peace",
"Grace" and "Charity"
meet in open conflict.
Variations in "truths"
insinuate falsities.
We are to decide which is which.
I am to choose sides
and make a stand.
Each side boldly boasting
that they are more than willing to die
on behalf of their findings.
ALL, offering answers
to Life's most perplexing questions.
"DEATH" and the "HEREAFTER"
"HEAVEN", "HELL"
and the "SPIRIT REALM"
"Where the world is headed"
and "When will it reach its final destination?"
All sides cannot be correct.
Who among us can truly say...
Which is fact
and which is faux ?
The only truth that I can find
is that the questions go unanswered.

I was born in
and beaten by
the Bible belt.
The original message is precious to me.
But also...
Just as they did with my Lord
Wise men from the East
have brought me wonderful treasures.
As the lightening cometh out of the East
and shineth unto the West...
These treasures have brought
flashes of light
to illuminate my darkness.

I cannot seperate them.
I am unable and unwilling
to draw distinctions.

My advice to myself?
Wait and see.
I have given up on solutions.
No answers have I.
I struggle to understand the questions
and no longer carry any.

Many, tell me that the answers
are in plain view.
The writing is on the wall.

They offer to read it to me.

I decline to make a stand on such matters.

Hence forth...
I shall keep my mind open...
and do my best
to come to no conclusions.
I do believe...
That the universal gears
turn much freer
without my intervention.
And I praise...
Whatever "Powers That Be"...
For having greater minds
than my own.
I shall carry out
the remainder of my days
secure in the knowledge that...
Everything is under control.

Whether I like it or not.

Aside from your wonderful talent Uriah, what I admire most about you is your willingness to write about the things that grind most of us to a halt. Religion in my opinion is pretty much a dirty word these days. I think a lot of people are begining to see past the vanity of loyalty to a sect and are returning to God and God is Love!

A very good standpoint, in my humble opinion!

Although I hold certain views on faith and truth, I believe that everyone has a right to worship whomsoever or whatsoever, and to worship as he/she wishes, and it is better that all are striving for the Good, what ever path they take - and tolerance of the views of all others is of paramount importance in the "God is love" stance, as Steven so aptly puts it.

I also believe that those who are not striving for spiritual growth are very unhappy because they are not aware of the need for spiritual fulfilment.  In my opinion, some of these people are aware of the void in their life.  Others blame circumstances or something else, anything, but the real reason for their unhappiness.
