What should I do?
Where should I go?

I ask myself these questions out loud. I listen for an answer. No one answers of course. Instead I hear the wind move past the dark corner in which I hid, to pass a quick bite. I huddle deeper in my dark corner to think some more.

What will happen in the future?
How shall I act?

Again I’m answered with silence as the light slowly disappears from my dark corner. My soul weeps with the coming dark. I will survive this night like previous nights that have come to pass. But each night will come sooner and sooner until there is only darkness.

What will happen to me?

No one answers, no one ever will. The darkness is complete now. I again huddle against this damnable corner where I stay… for now.
The darkness is whole.
The darkness is cold.

The verse paints a vivid picture of a corner, inside the fading light of desparation.
