I am ready to be assumed
like the virgin's breath
on the godless rocks of the inferno

I am blistered
I am burned
tied to the stakes of mankind

i am silver tounged
and snaked eyed

all my bets are placed
and I am ready to suffocate

I am taken by the river
I am washed upon the endless sands of time
all my sins erased

I am like fire when it dies
I linger on at dawn
rising to the sky like a pheonix
only to fall

to fall and to break
to break and to shatter
and to echo through the canyons of the great west

Still I remember you
still so close
even when I break
I hear your gentle hum
you come by night with your broom
and sweep up all the pieces
and make a mountain on the floor
and present my ashes to the living
as a testimony to the dead
and kiss the wind that takes me
and carries me to freedom
like silence that shatters the world
like sodom and gammorah
like a kiss from death
like wise words from prophets
like wise words from poets
but not a single word at all...
