Tammy’s Lullaby

birds softly
sing at night
a lullaby in blue light
midnight dream
for day is done
serenading
a special one
night songs
guard and keep
as the stars
watch you sleep
I watch in awe
as you stir
this miracle
that did occur
it takes
my breath away
you are the prayer
that I did pray
oh look,
I saw you smile
my heart skipped
precious child
eyes see now
in a different view
my world is new
because of you
time is a circle
and it is complete
as a tiny beauty sleeps
so sweet
the birds nightsongs
play in refrain
the music this love
does contain
with every precious
breath you take
slumber now
do not wake

just some words cut out
from the diary of my heart

Helen, this was such a beautiful lullaby and if you gifted it to a child, it is going to become a family treasure.
