The Big Alone

Well I ain't no preacher
I'm no heart savin saint
But I am a believer
In what is and what ain't

There's no kid left in me
Can't change things I regret
Feelin down at forty-three
Ain't found no true love yet

Chorus
I'm lost out here in the big alone
Wonderin what my life's about
I feel empty to the bone
My time is runnin out
Need a love to call my own
Need a heart to lean on....out here in the big alone

I did some good-bye lovin
With some Mary's & Janes
They all gave me somethin
But nothin I could save

No more Romeo disguise
Can't keep livin this way
Need love to ease my mind
The same lover everyday

Chorus
But I'm lost out here in the big alone
Wonderin what my life's about
I feel empty to the bone
My time is runnin out
Need a love to call my own
Need a heart to lean on....out here in the big alone

Bridge:
When the dawn comes soft and gentle
An I face the new daylight
I need someone right beside me
Who'll be there day and night.

Chorus
I'm lost out here in the big alone
Everybody talkin crazy
I feel empty to the bone
Can't hear what they're saying
Need a love to call my own
Need a heart to lean on......out here in the big alone

I love that line
"out here in the big alone"
I'll be humming this as I work tonight (alone)
Eric, I liked the slight changes you made to the song lyrics, especially the chorus line
your lyrics and music are easy to listen to and I found myself singing along
(won't torture your ears with my version)

time to get your cd

Hi ethome, I do so enjoy your music and your lyrics.
In this case I loved the view from the bridge.

It does indeed get lonely out there.
*Hugs* to you if you need one!

Always good to read you, Sir~
