Left

As it were,
I opened my door
To look upon that
Worried
Withered world.
My heart on the ground
Holding onto what I
Hoped to never leave.
But the walk away
Won’t sustain my heartfelt ache.
For even though I have gone
Long past the mountains
Towards the far-flung ocean.
My feet and my head,
Will always be planted
On this lovely ground,
My home on which I stand.

Hoped to never leave.

We tell ourselves or listen as others say it's for the best... that we must step forward in order to grow... and yet... and yet...

Your words vividly portray how difficult those steps can be... and how some vital part of us never leaves. *S* Excellent work! *S*

Thanks Lady, I appreciate it.

Suthern, the "walk away" is going to be hard for me, I've lived in my home my whole life. It's something I have to deal with, no bones about it. Thanks for understanding so well. Cheers to you both   - Ed

A bit of alliteration, always
welcome, warm, and wonderful
to sound out in soft sultry tones...
