It started quite awhile back
I came across the oddest tracks,
at first appearing very small
upon my windows, floors, and walls.
"What could this be?" I asked myself
while straightening up another shelf,
which somehow was in disarray,
and so began my quest that day.

A few weeks later, as I packed
the Grand-kids toys away, new facts
did surface in this mystery
as to whose tracks these just might be.
" It must be someone very smart,
a master of the ancient art
of disappearing, with the knack,
for leaving grimy little tracks!"

Like Sherlock Holmes,(sharp as a tack)
" Quite elementary !", I had cracked
the case, of this I was quite sure
of whose, exactly, these tracks were.
But, as of yet I had no proof
so, as not to appear a "goof",
I did implore my grand-kids "Stay,
we'll catch the one that got away!"

We'd set a trap, a big ol' stack
of chocolate fudge, a tempting snack,
as chocolate prints would really stick
( I thought this plan was pretty slick ).
But, even that didn't tell me who,
for now instead of one were two
smudged sets of chocolate tracks behind,
left by this clever mastermind !!!

And, may well be I'll never know,
the tracks get bigger as they go,
upon my windows, walls , and floors,
A keepsake I can't help adore.
I'm tempted just to leave them there,
( Ya think, perhaps, they're Teddy Bears'?)
