Place the 2 main ingredients
Inside a fishbowl
And with license & authority
Blend them together

As evenly as possible
Spread the mixture
Onto a sturdy and secure baking pan

Take notice how the mixture
Settles into layers upon layers
Consisting of love, trust, passion
Friendship, understanding, & compassion

Cover for privacy

Now, carefully place the pan
Into the oven on the center rack
So that the layers heat evenly

Baking time varies
And is beyond the control
Of what is in the oven

While it’s baking
Outside influences will
Adversely affect the layers by:

1. Constantly removing the cover

2. Manipulating the oven’s temperature
to varying degrees

3. Attempting to speed up or slow down the baking time by either moving the pan to the highest or lowest oven position.

4. Sticking their noses in the oven,
and then turning the pan in numerous positions
in order to observe the layers from different angles

Until…

The timer sounds
The oven shuts off
And onto a table
At room temperature
The finished product
Crumbles apart into pieces of
hate, mistrust, apathy,
anger, misunderstanding, & bitterness

"I have gone away. The bed is cold and empty. Trees bend their boughs toward the earth. And nighttime birds float as black faces."

well, it sounds like
your kitchen was out of control
from the get-go

maybe it's amazing how many recipes make it all the way, to the dessert

Thanks everyone. I guess being on my own and spending time in the kitchen is actually providing me with ideas for writing.

... lol ... a kitchen out of control! Indeed.
