What Love Looks Like Walk with me, he said I want to show you what love looks like We walked on the sand till the bottoms of my soles burned We walked across small stones and jaggered rock The day moved on and we came upon a large hill He began to climb at the top he reached down helping me on the last of our journey The sun was beginning to dwindle below the horizon As if the eye of God was putting the day to rest My feet were aching and my body was tired He reached down and massaged the bottom of my foot I could feel the power of tenderness in his touch Fixed to my eyes, he said "Into our lives comes a thousand chances to reach out to someone, most of us never see the chance. I hold your tender sole in my hands, committing to you, giving you as much comfort and compassion as you need. In this scared place, in the eye of God is what love looks like." |
