A Day by the Sea
~ Linda L. Dowd ~

The kiss of sun upon my skin,
While lying by shore of the sea,
It smiles my heart with happiness
As it spills its warmth into me.

Gold rays stream down from cobalt skies,
Rendering Light-ness to my day,
While waves of blue go rolling by,
Washing all of my cares away.

The freshness of the salty air,
I breathe into the core of me.
It clears my mind and calms my soul,
As I spend this day by the sea.

Hey Linda!
How about you and I take off
from these over 90F temps and head to the sea?
This one sure has me thinking about a vacation.
Lovely this..
Lovely you.
Hugs~Nancy

Something tugs at me, I've no doubt of that.
Something from the sea, whichever one I'm near.
When I stray too far from beachland, it calls me back

Linda

this brings fond memories to life again of many a day spent by the sea....

lovely

In your light I learn how to love
In your beauty how to make poems
You dance inside my chest where
no one sees you and that sight becomes this art

Very beautiful, Linda Lou!!
I love the beach too. It is so relaxing to me. I
love to hear the waves. It's so much fun to walk along
the beach barefooted at night and listen to the waves splashing.
Brings back some good memories. Thank you!!
Hugs,
Ethel

i liked the way you capitalized lightness placed a hyphen within. it's like you deftly situated the central theme within this piece

I do so love how this one concludes...

"The freshness of the salty air,
I breathe into the core of me.
It clears my mind and calms my soul,
As I spend this day by the sea."

Ah I can feel it!

Ethel Mae ~

Oh, yes! Like you, I love to walk along the beach as well at night.

When I was a little girl, I lived right on the shore of the Bay of Fundy in New Brunswick. I have such fond memories of the ocean waters and the fresh salty air!

Hugs with love,
Linda Lou

Hope ~

You are so fortunate to live by the sea! I have fond memories from when I did as well.

It was good to hear from you!

Just like the sea, I'm 'waving' at you! Waving
