Have you seen my Balladeer?
His perfect lines you'd know.
His flowing form and rhythum,
Put on a lovely show.

You see, I have been gone away,
For quite a long, long while.
And even though he may be cross,
His verse still makes me smile.

So, have you seen my Balladeer?
If so, send him this way.
So we can throw a verse around,
Like we did back in the day.

Last time I saw him,
he was chasing mice!

Something tugs at me, I've no doubt of that.
Something from the sea, whichever one I'm near.
When I stray too far from beachland, it calls me back

LOL I love your poem. Sounds to me
like you've got perfect rhyme, too.

If Balls of Deer gets wind that you're back, he'll be leaving those critters behind (at least I hope he leaves the critters behind!!!) and will show up faster than you can say "cucaracha"!

Sending a warm, welcome-back hug to a fellow Ontarian,

EA

Hey, Marilyn! You gorgeous thing!
I'm here! I'm here! I'm here!
A wonderful surprise you are
For this ole Balladeer.

You bring back many memories
Of those times way back when
We laughed and joked the whole night long..
Gee! How long has it been????

You and Lucie made us howl
And Suthern joined you, too.
Between you gals we had no clue
What you might up and do.

The battle of the sexes
Graced the pages every night
While all the folks applauded
Every punch thrown in the fight.

But that was quite some time ago
And many things have changed.
The type of fun we used to have
Would now brand us "deranged".

Long john's ship docks here no more
And Toerag seldom calls.
Lucie stopped but didn't stay
Long in these hallowed halls.

Our ribald way of having fun
Would be too much today
But it's sure fun to recollect
The way we used to play.

It makes me smile from ear to ear
To see your name back here.
You play songs on the heartstrings
Of your favorite Balladeer.

Oh what a shame, what has become,
of these our hallowed halls.
Where Justin's ruled with rapier wit,
and laughing aches for all.

I have been gone for far to long,
but worry not my friend.
If all the others in this place,
do think my quite insane.
The institute will have me back,
Nurse Cratchet still got game.

You know I care not what they think,
my laughter is my prize.
And you my truly gifted friend,
summarily surmise,
that I will welcome all my friends,
Justin Time and Case,
any others who join in
or none if that's the case.

So my loving, sweetest friend,
of many long good years.
I will bait you in the my verse,
till my laughter brings my tears.
