Wisteria Fall

Wisteria's leaves tumble now,
like green and yellow clothes
she lets fall into the breeze.
She will be bare soon,
her branches like a young girl's,
smooth but thin, all knees and elbows
that she's not quite ready to show.
I didn't see her bloom this year,
and next year seems so far away;
other seasons may come,
but I do not wait for them.
These leaves are blossom enough;
my heart can paint the rest.

Ed, this is so very very beautiful.

and these closings lines
for personal reasons

Ed, I love this one. I have had wisteria on my front porch and miss it here in Florida. Just the memory is sometimes enough. Thank  you. martyjo

Your beautiful words were a feast for the eyes.  Wisteria is one of my favourite flowers and I imagined so many beautiful blooms as I read your words.

There's a little park I stop at rare times, when my job duties take me that way and get done on schedule....I never stay for more than a few minutes, but I truly love the feeling the place gives me. There are benches and trees of all sorts, and an old historical home with a wisteria arbor.....which, as chance has dictated it to be, I've never seen in bloom.

You may have never seen the Wisteria bloom but we've seen it through your eyes. Excellent job. Wonderfully written.

Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind.  Unknown
