Good God . . .

As if dead
Were not bad enough

To make one wish
He spent his fate
None the less
Apart at least

However dark
And long the night

Immersed
In his own consciousness

and as I sit
silently contemplating
my origins

I find myself staring
into a very small space

aha
it's my belly button

now I can move forward

I enjoyed your poem.  I, too, find Sartre's view on life distasteful, but fascinating.
