A chance meeting, a perhaps, a maybe
Afterall, that really is all it was about
Now as I sit here writing this poem
In my mind there is little doubt

Some things are meant to be
This however was not
Perhaps it's better this way
For my heart didn't get caught

Yet it did, right in the middle
A dream angrily snatched away
All I can hear is the silence
I'm left with only today

Tomorrow,a word I know well, but not what it means
As visions of what could have been lay before me
I should be grateful though right
From my prisoned past I was set free

So why don't I throw a party
Where's the smile on my face?
Oh wait that's right, I forgot for a moment
I'm not in the right place

This nonsense can't go on
The what if's will drive me mad
I'm left with these haunted dreams
It all makes me so very sad

What if though, we could go back
Back twenty two years ago
Would things have turned out differently?
I guess we'll never know

For that was then, and this is now
It's time to make a new start
There's just one thing I left behind
My ever so fragile heart

I could pick up the pieces
Like I've done so many times before
I could think on the bright side
Perhaps find a new door

It's not going to work this time
This is a new journey for me
From now on I make my tomorrow
Whatever will be...will be

Good poem and good advise, as there is no way we can harness the mind of destiny, no way, I tried!  Liked this very much.

Yes Amy, we have to make the best of each new day..
and none of us knows what tomorrow holds.
Another profound write.

While the moon and the clouds come spinning
Will you whisper my name again?
Again...and again...

(big angel hugs) Oh Amy, this is sooooooo very true, dearest friend, and though my heart as always goes out to you in that you've had to endure so much pain early in your life, you are a wonderful, loving person who I know can accomplish anything you set your heart and mind to, and I know you will find all the joy and comfort your heart desires! (sigh) God Bless You, sweet friend, I have the utmost respect for you and am always blessed to have you as a friend, yay, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Amy, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton
