I chanced upon a circle drawn
from mushrooms in a forest glade.
"Enchantment" spoke the woodland sounds
"let there be no disturbance made."

In stealth I crept away to sit
in silence that I might observe,
the secrets of the faerie ring,
which held my thoughts within its' curve.

The gentle breeze, those soothing sounds,
the comfort of my hiding spot
combined to cast a spell on me,
I think, but then, well, maybe not.

All that I know, if it was real,
then there are forces to be found
within the circle faeries leave
a ring of clues upon the ground.

I may have dozed, I might have dreamed
yet, I know I was not alone,
there was another with me there
and certain secrets we were shown.

I cannot say what these things were,
we swore an oath upon that day
each to the other, I and her,
The one whose name I will not say.

Perhaps the circle was a sign,
to which was curiously drawn.
I woke up, oddly, by myself
and let out a ficticious yawn.

("To act as though there's no such thing's
our secret." said the faerie king,)

This is indeed absolutely magickal.

Not to mention disarmingly charming.

I am loving the faery dancing going on here.

Thanks, Doc.

Enchantress'
Thanks, as we speak the midnight train to Georgia plays. I'd rather rhyme in his world than in mine!

The fae do prefer you don't tell of your encounters, but I am glad you did. This was charming, and my granddaughters will love it added to Karen's poem.  Thanks for the treat.

MGROVES;
M GLAD.
Doc

passing shadows,
Thank you so much.
Doc

iliana,
Thanks,
Doc

Kit,
Thanks so much. Six years and counting. A blink in the real world, an eternity where it counts.

Obsidian Snow,
Thank you. Nice moniker (encompassing the yin & yang of it all). Or, would that be the anti-thesis of the same? I get confused.
Oh well, I may not comment, but, you got my attention.
Doc

Nightshade,
Thanks so much, I'm not, nor will ever be, one of the more popular poets around here.
I've been here six years now, and very little has changed for me. Please don't mis- understand, I would love to read and reply to every poem that crosses my path, but, this will not happen. There are way too many
other matters that are clattering for my attention. Cop out? No. Just the truth. Everyone is busy, I just don't seem to be able to "un-busy" myself as quickly as some others. Thanks for your reply, and, thanks for what you write.

Susan,
Thanks so much. You dredging this up has inspired a sequel. Hopefully something you may enjoy.
