Tinted grey: Sad face
On sky, or mind, or leaves.
Foggy  thoughts
Make blur increase;
Rain and sorrow-tears
Are mystery clues
That streak through mist,
Run down cheeks-
Or fall from leaf tips
Glistening
Black and white tints;

Moods Ted Turner
Attempts to erase,
By spreading bright paint
Over old movie screens.

When mortality weaves
Thread-Shades,
Blacks and whites
Of somber-serious,
Through our dress
Remember
One that covered Christ,
(But not his heart)
Which bled for reason;
Questioning anguish
Yet, accepting,
His hope never shaken,
As he hung between
Two fully covered thieves.

Gloom is fear that creeps,
Through cloth
Bringing with it, lessons
Taking deaths hand
Makes it weak,
Grasping, confirms reality
No pill can supercede;
Orange reds and yellows-
Blues, sugar tablets that we take
Will never forever make,
Sour music sweet.

When sad rhythm finds your ears.
Man or woman you must lead,
For grief takes every persons hand
When Saturn's babe is stirred awake,
And prays us keep its darkness gift;
Only dancing, with that devil
Rocks our Wednesdays child asleep.

I'll return the OMG
and add a whisper...

I am a Wednesday's child...

~ a few of the outstanding lines in this provocative poem.

How wonderful it is, to feel so good inside, on receiving such complimental replies...

I must allow that these words were inspired by reading a chapter in Thomas Moores book " Care of the soul". That chapter is titled  "Gifts of depression"
I urge everyone to read that chapter, and the entire book.

Peace and love to all...
And thanks as many as are stars

the poet's tone is stark
yet he dances shoeless
with the devil
and comes up punching.

Ford....After reading this again, I looked up what day of the week I was born on...I was pretty sure it wasn't Wednesday.  I found out I am Tuesday's Child.  Again, I loved your poem!

Excellent write and I may just read your recommended book to discover what gifts depression presents us with - surely I must be the forgotten one.
