downtown is down stream easy
greasy street with hot water
like a tv movie at night

with fog dogs and the lights
of bumper to bumper bumpers
sleeping dogs and faster cats

in their metal fur glimmer
and the make-up on the mirrors
from the latinas with lotsa's

doing their smiles over the yawns
of an early yesterday freeway
tween' the city and the town

the park has new treasures now
from the tin knights nightly's
and a green sack santa is pickin

his loom-nim' from the 4 yard orchards
