The command of a person
gets the dog to heel
the owner should know better
in her heart she feels

Severity is not her key
to keep a pet at bay
adopt gentler measures
to lead her pet astray

access to the food table
tidbits abound
a call from the trainer
induced a public frown

What can one do to keep a pet away
why should one have a pet anyway
if by day the rules are not applied
by night the trainer says I spy

No wonder the owners
had nothing to say
to follow up on instructions
to keep a pet at bay

I have seen this so many times myself.  Why people even bother to do obidience training and then don't follow through is beyond me too.

They probably have no idea what obedience is until someone demonstrates it, kind of odd eh?
