Kaoru's Challenge:  /pip/Forum7/HTML/000661.html
"As I was going through my poetry notebook, I noticed there were a lot of unfinished works that I'd never really come to finishing.
I'm sure there are plenty of you who have done this and still saved these amputees of poetry.
I think we should take those and put them all together to form one large poem. I read mine as one and it actually ended up sounding decent." Kaoru

Forever
~ Linda L. Dowd ~

Winter winds wail and wage through the underbrush of my fallen dreams. Dark clouds are slung low and threatening. Shadows linger where the sun once shone and tears fall down like raindrops.
All seems lost and all seems dreary as I am flooded by warm memories in these closing days of yet another year gone by as the sands of time slip slowly away.

I am lost and alone yet I remember the warmth of loving arms wrapped around me in gentler times.
As I gaze into my mirror, I quiver at the thought of you. Thy once proffered hand touches mine heart with roses red. With you, I shared mine essence of sea, sky and sod ~ and that of my lotus blossom breeze wafting on a balmy summer’s eve.

In moments of quietude, in the dawning light of the darkest night, please wait not 'til mome of inspire comes. Awaken to a morning full of promise and gather rainbows in a bottle. Sweeten my life as does the essence of a rose ~ for you are my every thing.

Tiptoe through the garden of my heart as we listen to wind lullabies and wander wild woods until break of day. Be still, my love, and touch me tender in that secret place.

In mid of night, there came a tapping at my window as long shadows slid across the room. I was touched by silvery beams from Mother Moon and slipped into a pool of reverie and silence…

On rising this spring morning, with the rays of sun shining down upon me, I feel as tho’ I could climb a mountain high! There is joy in knowing that I am a part of the ebb and flow of life.Lilacs lay in gay profusion before me as I awake in midst of dream of faery realm. ‘Tis a world of wonder that lies before me on these mystic shores. Love is all around me! Love is in the air! In the hushed silence, there is music in a babbling brook as we behold the dew that glistens in the break of day.

I blow with the breeze across meadows of clover ~ unencumbered and free.
I swim with the dolphins, sing with the meadowlarks, and fly across cerulean skies with the eagles ~ for I am a Light Spirit.

As love grows stronger, our joy will radiate throughout the world. When all seemed lost and dreary, into the great darkness was cast a Light. As our spirits rise as one, peace will reign throughout the land ~ for all shall bask in the glow of our loving.

In the deepest hour of nighttime sleep, I awoke to my paradise found.
In the gloaming of the bonnie brae with the warm kiss of sun upon my skin, I have finally found my way home ~ to the home where I belong.

I lift my eyes to the heavenly skies,
~knowing not what my morrows may bring,
but on dreams I’ll swing, from crescent moon,
and forever this heart shall sing.

Lee ~

Kaoru's challenge was fun to do! In fact, as I was gathering up fragments of poems that never came into being, I found several ideas for poems begging to be written!

I don't think
there has ever been a time
that I have opened
one of your poems
and not walked away
shaking my head
wondering at your ability
to bring a quiet peace
to the heart
of the reader...

jo, this was so much fun to write! I threw  fragments of my unwritten poems together (along with a few of my poetry titles for good measure!), and they actually wove into a poem in their own right! You should try it! Kaoru had a great idea here!

Hugs with much love,
Linda
