Dark

but there...

and there...

and over there...

steaks of light
dancing across the sky

"falling stars"

appeals to the artist
much more than

"meteors"

and so I shove the
scientist in me
to the back
and let the artist fly

just in time to see
a star fall from Heaven itself
and explode in a bright flash
of white and purple
and blue and pink

and the endless galaxy
remains in its
continual, silent, spin

though tears stream down
my face

and then He created the horse...
