A Bit of Nostalgia

It was so comfy (cold leather)
and roomy (cramped)
in the rear seat of his ‘57 Chevy,
We went to see a movie (forgot to watch it)
at the Drive-in (place to park and make out)
theater.( I never did like Dracula movies anyway)
It was all so innocent (very risqué, to tell the truth)
but those were such innocent (experimental) times.
Nothing happened (except a near disaster)
but nonetheless, it was quite romantic (hot and heavy).
I had just turned 18 (that’s what I told him)
He was older (also sixteen)
and rather sophisticated (had his first beer that night)
and knew all the ropes (He was a virgin in the purest sense)
And he knew just how to handle a woman
(though he had no clue what to do with a 16 year old)
There we were, all alone (with 2 other couples)
beneath the stars (hidden behind  black clouds)
in our secret, comfy, roomy hide away, where no one could see us
(convertible top was down)
It was very  quiet (except for the staticky speaker)
And very dark (Beneath the drive- in lights and humungous Silver screen)
As you can imagine (through your own experience),
We only got past first base (whizzing past 2nd and 3rd)
And certainly never made a home run! (though there were grounds for confession, and I’m not even Catholic!)
I wasn’t that type! (not ‘til sixteen and a half)
My son recently bought a classic car, a ‘57 Chevy convertible
(I picked it out)
There is something very nostalgic in a classic car
(hot memories)
But the back seat is rather cramped
(I was so skinny in those days)
and I do love riding with the top down!
(every one can see you ((How utterly disgusting!)) )

And you just want to spew the memories, all the build up, relax, and just do it.

This is not a true story
I was just in the mood for a little silliness this morning

Liz...If it wasn't your true story than it was mine!  I even had a chevy, but it was a 56 and not a convertable.  Those were the days!!  Thanks for the memories and the big smile!
