In the Shadow

In the shadows of my mind
Underneath a thin skinned rind
Runs an appaloosa wild
Like the cravings of a child

It runs a zigzag woven lace
Impossible from place to place
Heedless of the field of crop
Beyond the ear shot call of stop

It seeks the corners black of night
Where seems to hide a treasures plight
Chases out the bats of dwell
Regardless of the waves or smell

Challenges the realm of real
With just the sward of self appeal
And in the spirit of the flight
Finds itself a black of sight

And if you live this state of rump
It clears a field and pulls a stump

I particularly liked the choice of the "appaloosa" -- seems so appropriate.  Much enjoyed this galloping!   ......jo

Seymore choosing words to describe you work gets to be a chore sometimes. For this one I choose Noble. This is my favorite of your wonderful writes that I've been priviledged to read. Thank you kind sir!
