Moscow's Metro Tragedy - Performances Sold Out in Madrid
- Playing Now in London, 911 Relived

Perhaps we don’t speak Russian, but we know the language.
It’s a language of expression and emotion.
We painters paint it.
And Mussorgsky’s Songs and Dances of Death
linger within wave lengths intermingling with our own heartbeats.

For we know Death’s tune and have heard his mighty tympani thump and rumble.
We have watched him swoon and lull the lover,
entice and dance, and hover,
and embrace those dear to us.
And today, he sings and dances near to us, within our hearing and seeing.
~ ~ ~ ~ ~
But the tune he dances, the song he sings
is one of anger, given things are out of pattern --
out of rhyme – for Death bows only to Divine.

In Spain, he came to gather many, relunctant though he be,
for Death, the bidding not foretold, it maddens him, you see.
The overtime is killing him, and soon he will retire,
but first he’ll loose his wrath upon the wicked who conspired.

In London town, they sought his crown, with four full blasts of hatred.
Life presumes its given chance and it will stand, emanicipated.
The lower forces of this world who worship Death as king
have created new theology, with insanity as theme.
Life will live beyond the grave, souls will rise out of the slain,
and haunt the hordes of brainwashed whores
who’ve sold their souls to Death’s rewards.
For Death has made no deal with them; he does not call them foe or friend.
Rewards are none for those who steal the timing only Death reveals.
To take the treasure that is life, and treat it as a tool for strife,
trade it for agenda,
sell it for a goal –
That is warring business, and will bring about their fall.

There is no joy for Death tonight for Death has seen it all.
He serves the Master of Design; he'll have his vengence, give him time.
What right have they, the terrorists, to take more than Death’s requisites?

Hearing, I, Mussorgsky's Songs, Death's lullaby to fallen ones --
Moscow, New York, Madrid, Bali,
Jakarta, Palestine, Yugoslavia,
Beruit, Iraq, Kenya, Yemini
Israel, London, Istanbul, DC
(There are places I forgot,
but terrorists have not.) --
my heart cries with the melody that solemn Death does chant.

When will terror end its grip and find that life is better spent?
When will terror cease to be and find itself redundancy?

Thanks, Dixie.  I know it is morbid but I can't help pouring out my feelings on it all.  (The music was my daughter....performing the "Songs & Dances of Death")   ....jo

Bravo!, Jo, Well done......

There are two profound questions in this poem, I had to pause long at them, as I read this piece.

"What right have they, the terrorists, to take more than Death’s requisites?"

and

"When will terror cease to be and find itself redundancy."

I cannot answer either.....:-(

But it is good for me to read and study them.

Ice, I have to give you the credit for the inspiration....when I read your poem tonight, it brought back the memory of the Moscow's Metro Tragedy I wrote after that incident....the rest came then.  Thanks for your post.   ....jo

You have that rare insight of asking
the hardest of all questions...

like Ford, I don't know the answers,
either, but I know we have to find some.

lily jo, I am absolutely thrilled to have been able to hear your darling Abby sing! What a beautiful and soul-expressive voice. Her years of study have certainly produced divine results.

Having her singing in the background while I read your poem, really added to the sombre atmosphere created by your words.

~ D'accord! I totally concur, sister spirit.

It was an honour to be able to experience yours and Abby's gifts blending together.

"What right have they, the terrorists, to take more than Death’s requisites?"

THEY are collectors of trophies and self declare the right.  WE should follow there rules and take a page from Black Jack Pershing's biography!

This is excellent work, I applaud your effort and skill.
