The Hand Rail

The hand rail of my guide, is think
With that I give a little wink
For random are the cobble stones
That paves the road beneath my bones

And yet I tip toe through the field
The quick sand mortar of the yield
With hand on plane and tap of cane
I make my way from sane to sane

To walk the forest floor of grime
Dissolving in the swamp of time
To watch the changing filigree
The limits that my eyes can see

I see more candles in my sight
They light the earth like stars at night
Winking in and out my dream
Making shadows in the stream

They bob and throb each touch of core
To reach the sea of evermore

Sy, your words always give me that wonderful "I just got a good poetry fix" kind of sigh.

I love the wording in this piece and found it very visual. Really well done and much enjoyed this Friday morn.

Best wishes and hugs,
/Kit

What a beautiful visual passage this is here Sy!
You always start my day off feeling good.

Something tugs at me, I've no doubt of that.
Something from the sea, whichever one I'm near.
When I stray too far from beachland, it calls me back

What a lucky man - you got extra winkies?

I intend to see that shore of evermore with you one fine day too.
