Walk With Her

Before the stars
bed themselves, one can
pretend it is still night,
counting on the seven sisters
to walk with her…

when the night sounds are less,
and two deer, discovered,
pretend they don’t notice,
but saunter away, nevertheless…
even though she would reach toward them,
                 pretending to be Sleeping Beauty
                                and one with nature

Trees have changed their tone…
their tips, curling inward, no longer whisper
with the breeze, but shush away
on the fading of summer…

Can you hear me? I am with
all of you, even, even in my decline,
when just a memory
of a warm day
touches soft, a long ago ever was

when one can pretend
it is still night,
counting on the stars

to walk with her.

I did not want to walk..but,
rather to tip-toe gently through this beauty.
How softly your pen touches the parchment.
Once again your eloquence shines through.

Hugs, Sis.

Something tugs at me, I've no doubt of that.
Something from the sea, whichever one I'm near.
When I stray too far from beachland, it calls me back

Good morning, Sun Light!

"Trees have changed their tone…
their tips, curling inward, no longer whisper
with the breeze, but shush away
on the fading of summer…"

~ If I quoted all the lines that were highly appealing to this reader, I would have been writing out the whole poem! However, the above lines were especially memorable for this avid fan of the fruits born of your writing abilities!

Love & Sun Shine,
Linda

Lovely write!  I think I saw the word "magical" in the thread and yes, it is definitely that.

To "Walk With Her" is to acknowledge time passing, more swiftly with each season.  Sigh.
Wonderful piece.  Ken
