prophet A meadow lay in April green In fragrant scents, of pore and clean With unborn buds about to burst To pastel shades of limb and earth A foot upon the spongy sod Draws footprints sanctified by God Unleashing vibrant yellow hues In mottled dawns and misty dews How fast the fragile hand of hope Spreads lavenders across the slope Then rests the eye upon a blade And pastel seasons as they fade The ivory moon from phase to phase Is prophet of the changing days From barren field with hollow stalk To frigid slopes of glittering chalk The meadow is a memory’s flight From budding green to icy white But far beyond the cold and bleak Are better meadows that I seek Elizabeth Santos |

How fast the fragile hand of hope Spreads lavenders across the slope Then rests the eye upon a blade And pastel seasons as they fade I believe hope is man kinds' sword...and you my dear poet, have penned a master piece with your even songs of love... truly inspiring and beautiful...  |
