A stranger touching too close
With rambling of a restless mind,
Yet in a time when he chose
He became soft gentle and kind,
But it was just a brief stay
Before the nightmare took hold
And by the dawn the next day
His spirit was distant and cold.
Cold she be another wine
One so sweet and delighting,
The vintage he wished to find
In a bottle ever flowing.

There is no taste left on his lips
No remembrance at his fingertips;
A brushed cheek at departure
And roads diverged to the future.

Prof,
You in some kind of funk? Interesting write.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

Thanks Larry,
Funk?
Not sure if that applies,
Certainly a darkish mood, a haze on the verge of depression,
But then so often I am on that verge
And in that haze.
Glad you took the time to read and respond.

fits my mood...like a sour note drifting in that proverbial bottle seen floating in a stormy sea

Hey Prof,
Just trying to figure out the mind set of these writes. Truth is it's none of my business. After all, what ever you write is done well and this one really intrigued me.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

Than you, Midnitesun,
A sour note? You must have heard me singing.
But there are enough stormy seas these days.
Pleased you enjoyed my words.

Larry,
Truth is you are a concerned friend.
This actually is inspired by past events,
Mine filled with memories and regrets,
But that’s always the way it is with me.

Perhaps a bit dark but very well written.
A walk in the light might brighten things up a bit.

I don't believe how some don't care, how they scar others...and the effects their cruel and unthinking actions have...they just don't have a clue, therefore, are incapable of love...so in the end, we're better for it...yanno?

this was bittersweet and yet, very well done.
