Rhymes And Other Reasons
~*Marge Tindal*~

Whatever does a poet do
with words they find about ?
Dip them in the ink-of-think
then turn them inside out ?

Place them on the pages
of noted spirals bound?
Tuck them in some chest-of-cedar
so they will only be found …
when they are dead and gone
for far, far too long ?
(That will happen, you know)

The ones who become benefactors
will someday flip us through
wondering at the poet …
the very poet who
lived a legacy of reflections
capturing them in rhyme
then tucked them away
for the all of time
never, ever sharing
the magic of the rhyme
while they were here
to hear the applause
Infamous destined fame
because …
just because
someone read
poet's words~

~*When the heart grieves over what it has lost,
the spirit rejoices over what it has left.

When they find your words of beauty. They will smile at the treasure they have found hidden in the ole cedar chest.

Dear Marge:  A thought provoking poem.  I was just wondering a day or so ago, what will happen to all my poetry when I'm gone.
I'd like to think it will be treasured by my family, but I don't know what they would do with all the files and disks! After all,
it will have serves its purpose by then!

Marge - I was having the same thoughts just recently but you put them into words most eloquently.  I guess they'll eventually just be filed in the archives of time.

I have often wondered that myself , what will they think of my ponderings in pen and ink and all the collected emotions saved upon discs

Dear Marge

This poem of yours gave me something to think about.......Make lots of copies of your poetry on disks and when your 'time' comes, have those disks sent to your loved ones etc.

Anyhow, this is a lovely poem.

Love Isobel xo

Beautiful and thought provoking. I also think about that and I fear no one will be patient enough to read my poetry. But I also love to think that if some poems are meant to be appreciated, the right people will find them.... even under the dust.

You have already Delaney and Landry who love their personal Poet so much, they will see to it that your treasure - for a treasure it is - will be found.

Love and hugs.

Friends ... so many of you related to this little piece of my heart~

We ALL must make the time to see to it that the poetic thoughts from our hearts ... are in good hands for the future~

So very glad this place is here to be able to share with so many~

I actually have printed copies of all of mine (whew) ... and disks too~

Do it NOW ... for one never knows what tomorrow brings~

This reminds me of a couple of royal poetic chewing-outs I got from certain scalawags when they found out how careless I am with my words. *S* Well... not really careless... just perfectly content to have them gather dust in a box. LOL

I like this so much, sweet lady! *S*
