THIS WRITING LIFE
When something lost within me, started searching and to seek
When something deep within me needed way to somehow speak
My mind it took direction and outlet through a pen
And each day since it’s called on me to write and write again

Somehow a pathway to my soul was opened up to share
The hidden thoughts I used to have, now for the world was there
I found it was my outlet which gave my mind a rest
It started with just simple things, then of what life would test

My writing life has changed me, at times not all for good
It’s made me find a strength inside that once I never would
It’s offered me a freedom; or lets say a place to hide
I write it all and find somehow within it I confide

I’ll write today and then forget the things I wrote to share
Once down the lines are just a blur as if they were not there
But if I read them in their verse, that moment does return
When my mind and pen did dance to scribe a thought, concern

There are voices that are singing, some crying sad and long
Angels that are helping all the voices to belong
Myself but just the go-between that tries to set things right
The puddle that the quill does dip, the fuel to make it write

And everyday a little more I write down of my time
A thought of inspiration with another line to rhyme
But for me it’s a diary to which I can return
I write now so that others may a little of me learn

Rick, it is good to see you write. So often we do not even know what we are feeling or thinking until we have said it or written it.. But once written down and read, even if just for ourselves we have a better grasp on who we are and what we are really thinking.
Sometimes there just does not seem to be anyone around who wants to listen or join in a conversation. Writing is the way we learn to communicate, again, even if to yourself.. best to you,  martyjo

for me, I've come such a long way, due to web sites and the ability to write...it's opened up a new world of learning who I am, articulating myself...helped me not be afraid and an afirmation of what should be in my life....
this, was truly inspiring Rick, it's always sooo good to see you, click on you and read what new and good forces are working with your muse...hugs and thank you for sharing.

martyjo, thank you so much for your reply here, you are so right in what you say, lovely to have you visit, keep writing my friend.

Dear Lee, sooo good to see you as well my friend, without our writing where would we be? I just love being able to share, it somehow brings us out of ourselves and closer to others, great to see you Lee, catch up again soon.

Sincerely
Rick
