Ten pound day

Burning toast
Wrinkled clothes
Screaming kids
Time slides
Home life crammed
Disaster slams
Ten pounds of stuff
In a five pound day

Rain pours down
Clothes drown
Traffic jams
Bike cop hams
Fender bender
Temper in blender
Ten pounds of stuff
In a five pound day

Project is taffy
Spilled coffee
Screaming boss
Memos lost
Too many tasks
Too many asks
Ten pounds of stuff
In a five pound day

Lover gone
Life moves on
Pile of bills
Meals are swills
No relief
Life deceives
Ten pounds of stuff
In a five pound day

Sigh, this sounds familiar, sometimes it's tough!

Very incisive write showing a reality that many know.

Mostly, my time for days like this have passed, but I know it is reality for many.  I hope it brought you a chuckle.  Ken

Great write!  I'm smiling here now because once upon a time I simply said, "No".

Thanks to all who came to call
I'm so happy I could bawl
Days come down like driving rain
All we feel sometimes is pain.

Thanks again!  Ken

Boy, I am sure glad this one came back up.
I must have been on vacation when you posted
this smile maker!
Thankfully I don't have too many days like this anymore..
But oh...how I do remember them very well.
Excellent write Ken m'friend!

kayjay,
You couldn't have said this any better!  I've known a few of those ten pound days myself!  I guess we must be like the ant that lifts many more times its weight.  Oh, I wish!
Take care.  I enjoyed this mucho!  This one goes straight to the library...
