Between the Lines

Until

My heart pounds to this day's rhythm,
each a moment out of need.
My words, they hold in nakedness
the morning mourning's feed.

Death waits and clings to tears in code.
Support, my own, to give.
I'm shadowed by the shadow's take.
This painful life I live.

I search the face of flowers plain,
for plain is what I be.
The simpleness where beauty lies
is what I wish to see.

Emotions tie me up in knots
exhaustive pushing on.
Directions pull away from you
when touch of love is gone.

Whatever happens, happens now.
Unfolding, I am still.
To free the spirit, worth the ache
my words are all...until.

And words are therapeutic...someday the tune will change; hang in there.   ....jo

Wonderfully rhymed and enjoyable to read. I especially enjoy the line above.

"If this grand panaorama before me is what you call God... then God is not dead."

Sue, thank you...it's nice to know someone can relate...this isn't entirely a sad poem though... I feel promise in the air

Lauren, nice to see you...hope all is well in your world~ thanks

Dixie, I know you know...
hugs

Jo, I think that tune is in the process of changing..although there will be some sadness to accompany it...but that is a part of life...
Thank  you for your thoughts

Mike...it is great to see you on here after such a long time gone...hope you are  enjoying your new life.

That line was due to waiting and wondering if death of a family member will accompany my morning...my father-in-law is in the hospital still after 20 days, not getting better, not getting worse...

Maureen, this is so beautiful. And, I understand so well what you mean.
