Waiting

So! What is this all about
Life is but a lonely shout
A cry for love and warmth
Why then the pain of earth

Shall I dwell in depths of despair
Seeking refuge in obscurity's lair
Mentoring needs for calm
In desperate times of harm

When winds blow and seas ravage
Destroying plains of emotions
Years of fighting mind and age
Must I stand amidst life's commotion

They, the great, have been and gone
Time has ousted their trusted belief
Wasted away their fragile skeletal bone
As academes move in with vulture's grief

Do I wait for my time to speak
Whilst my world is abandoned
To an exclusive alien bent to wreck
The very foundations I longed

I do not wait for you to crush me
For I have stood the test of time
