i wonder tears
do you think my time for laboring days
are soon at end?
like waves of September kissing sand good-by?
i think not…and glance back at the ocean, knowing
there are words still to think
in this very little time, of brightly colored threads

bulging things fill the surf, vestments of Neptune’s heart
and
i
feel a morning breeze, warming the spirit dancers
serve to what perishes time

i sigh, surrendering one handful at a time
asking,
still, there are parts of me yet to find…
today, there will be wet wood to lie beneath
to peer with pleasure at mindfulness
despite whatever else is true

like a devoted god, strong with no limitations
light blatantly conveys great emotional power
it’s source upon our work
and play
you feel it perform
alteration flies like tiny lights
discovering drums, feathers,
light posts of heaven
merely oozing re-vision, grace & above all, love

oh prune out sacrificed innocence
let it be guiltless, transitioning shape
truth is, my eyes have always been clear
and the voice inside, tells me
i was meant to be with me…

linger, linger in the hue
where the tune fork sounds
with great passion so bright i squint…

whitewash evoking inspiration
pushing me onward to find pink
brush strokes of dawn
to touch the island where ash
created land

i am surrounded by design
sprouting from mere vibrations
where no one clears they’re throat
or raises eyebrow
it is then, i remember the froth crest
egg shaped stones of iron ore

this is where i live, in small talk awakenings
waiting for the crumbs of some cashmere sweater
but the sweater drinks a long swallow of me
whispering….your pheasant blouse
is that of an artist’s wear
you’ve taken a life drawing class
and painted self-depiction
draped over your arm, now, is digestion

i want to say something
but i’m frozen
in the glare of embroidery
i look down, humbled with rounded eyes
“i haven’t always been good to me”

let the martyr die…set the table of life
lie naked through the crowds of years
and remember, always remember
infused with color is color
corn streaming liquid still awakening
taking shape, breathing for the first time
oh, for that first miraculous breath
oh, iambic nature

i blow on the surface of ambition
like powder puffs of dandelion, they explore me
with glasses
hundreds of current images, encircling
webbing, unanswered questions, floating on air
they are
pushing a stroller
i look inside, the curiosity is killing me
there, with few disappointments, and great possibility
is a micro cosmic mountain
which i cup in my hands

ohhhh, i marveled at it’s expanse
as it grew me, like an oriental jewel
i am the entranceway
wearing bottled green
pale carnations
tinted flesh, hanging on the wall of life
with mahogany balusters
silver roses announcing a staircase
and i realize, the evolution of
that micro cosmic mountain

oh tears with mimosa centers
building a fireplace
do you think my time for laboring days
are soon at end?

before i go, i wish to fill the pockets of children
to know the warm afternoon personally
to clasp hands with the damned
and promise them long breath
i want to feel King Arthur’s round table
wear my own coat
say thank you to my son
before this poem ends
may i dance with the mayflies
forget the old questions
remember the marvelous poems of everyone…
through Mallory
her heartbeat is the language of rosettes
her own
may I take along the scent of fresh green grass

i face the water now
and like a painter growing a seascape
hear the immortal language of the canvas
i see life…coming directly to Pennsylvania
for Christmas

for poets everywhere in everyday, is Christmas

i wonder tears...how well I've served you?

Line after line after line,
I want to copy them
and imprint them
somewhere
so I can touch them
on the waking moments
and walk them
in the dreaming times...

i want to say something
but i’m frozen
in the glare of embroidery
i look down, humbled with rounded eyes
“i haven’t always been good to me”

Thank you, Sis...
for having the spunk
that you have...

and for paying it forward.

The line that reached out and just absolutely grabbed me, was: 'I was meant to be with me'....and I hope you stay that way, because I love the beauty of your thoughts, your way of sharing them with the rest of us! Beautiful work, my friend, and a real pleasure to read....~S~
