Just Pretend
~ By Sue ~

From the first time I saw you
I knew you were the one for me
There was just something about you
I couldn't quite see.

I felt it deep inside my heart
a love, I had never felt before
For me, it seemed so unreal
to find someone I so adored.

Each time we were together
the passion I felt inside
would continue to grow, and then
it became harder for me to hide.

I never would have thought
it would all come to an end.
after all those years with you
your love was just pretend.

Today, there is a place inside my heart
where you will always reside,
for my love for you was so strong
but the tears, are no longer cried.

Sue, though this is sad, it shows an inner
strength that you've grown into. I could
feel your heart there on the pages.

And, although it's sad, it is written so beautifully.

Thanks for sharing your heart with us.
Hugs,

I have to agree...

it's a sad song...
but it also shows so much more.

Strength of character, for one...

and for two? Look at how far
your poetry has come!

Sue, it does take time, but there's a certain sort of numbness that fills the empty void, and in the end it's a blessing not to have to miss that person.  I'm glad to see you moving on, as you are a good lady and only deserve to smile!!!!  And yes, I think this is an excellent piece of writing, too....~S~
