* * *

He came unto me with fire in his eyes
and love in his heart.
Hints of rose oil drifted around the room
and awakened our senses,
as shadows danced beyond
the flickering candlelight.
Beads of passion smouldered
beneath the surface of our skin
as love became the conductor of our hearts.

We welcomed love's first gentle flutterings
and succumbed to the sensual awakenings
that stirred deep within, as we
quenched our thirst for love
and indulged in the finest fruits
of passion and desire.

Our bodies were aglow beside the roaring fire
and I surrendered to the warmth of his embrace,
and delighted in the tenderness of his touch.
We savoured each and every moment as our
needs became more urgent and our desires
demanded to be fulfilled.

His love coarsed throughout my veins
as night turned into morning,
and in the afterglow of love,
he left me.........breathless.

* * *

"Wine comes in at the mouth
and love comes in at the eye.
That's all we know for truth
before we grow old and die.
I lift the glass to my mouth,
I look at you and I sigh"

I am in motion
I am blue
Love is an ocean
I'm anchored in you

Sue....this one left me...breathless...

A beautifully rendered story of sensual, passionate love.

I felt it.

Sue...absolutely wonderful...of all yours, my favorite to date.  You wrote this beautifully (and dare I say it) breathlessly.

Had to come back and say I love the new pic too...j.

I am so glad you liked this piece.

As you probably noticed, this was one of very few poems I have written that do not rhyme.  I must admit I felt like a fish out of water when I began writing this way but the response has so far been good, so I'll try doing a few more.  Thank you so much for your wonderful comment and I'm so glad you liked the picture.

Take care.........Sue

Suetant, ... you draw me into you ... is it real? ... or just a fantasy? ...
Here on Pips, Here on the imaginal plane,
they are the same.
Now, if only I could dream you into being ...

Hey Jaime

Would I disappoint you if I said that this was written purely from imagination?  I was so very humbled by your lovely words and I was reminded of one of my favourite quotes :

"If I never met him
I would have dreamed him into being"

Take care........Sue

wow! Sue, what a splendid romantic dreamy write! I understand why Jaime loved this one, you really draw the reader in, with a soft and passionate caress.
One of your best writes, and I read all of them.

Thank you ladies.  I'm so glad you liked this one and I'm sure you know by now that I'm a hopeless romantic.
