Overwhelmed

I feel so much in silence
yet words I can not use
nor know the meaning of
lapse behind the vocabulary
of this simple one
protraction seems to be
one of my greatest sins
underneath the hurry and wait
and patience and I are not partners
so I dance alone at dusk
finding no solace in the light
between me and built walls of brine
yet I find I still light fires
in the dripping darkness
in hopes that this chill
will soon pass

just some words cut out
from the diary of my heart

...sometimes I think I live in the "refrigerator" age if there is such a thing... understanding your feelings
btw... life overwhelms me everyday

I light fires, too,
and hope...
wish it would hurry.
I hate being overwhelmed.
I get it...

And it will.
Excellent write.  The title pulled me in.

I was curious how 1 slick_lady could be "Overwhelmed"

Sometimes it doesn't... but most of the time it will, if we're open to the warmth. The first thing they do when they get a hypothermia victim inside, is to get that cold coat off them, so they can warm up.

Leader of Rats is right, perhaps if you bared yourself more, the warmth will penetrate to your very soul and ease your chill.

Whenever I feel overwhelmed by life, I divest myself of the extranious and all that which drains my life force. I make every effort to simplify.

Sending you a warm hug,
EA
