i shiver the movement of kisses
the gallop of king’s horses
that take you away
in dream

something beautiful
gone, into the white of day

and your eyes
beat round me like the sea
blue and falling
like summer

and

autumn will shorten the days
circle me with new stars
and dark leaves

she’ll hush the trees
and you, will clasp the sun
in the pale day with pale hands
and arms that are like heaven....

and i can’t touch you

and i knew in the crystalline knowledge of you

Maree

Your title conflicts with the sensual feeling of this poem...perhaps you meant, Inside and outside?  Beautifully done!

Maree,

I saw that swirling mass
that beat around you

and the ending . . .

is heartbreaking.

beautiful.

What can I say, you're all way too kind and I appreciate you all so very much. I thank you dearly. Though... the lady this poem was written for certainly deserves so much better than this small offering.

Martie? actually I meant "outside the flesh" meaning all that's happening around me, but perhaps you're right. Do yuo have a suggestion?

great big to you all

thank you

Mxx

hmm, i like the title...sometimes the flesh is too small to hold the massive feelings we have. Flesh fades....
"outside the flesh" is a much bigger space to contain a whirlwind of emotion.

though, plenty of sensuality here

I like the way this falls
down the page
easy, and pure,
a simple escape
into an uneasy dream...

Stunning, and too many lines to quote, but i will;

and you, will clasp the sun
in the pale day with pale hands
and arms that are like heaven

wowwowwow.library, without a doubt.

Hope you are well, miss talking to you! xx
