The Gift

What will the shelter of the darkness bring?
What gift you saved for me to end the day?
Unsuspecting of love’s burning sting —
This gift would my heart of Troy betray.

Your voice of love — the premise of unknown —
Softly whispers envoys of your yearning.
Their stealth descent feel not my flesh and bone
— Till victory is seized and Troy is burning.

Oh, this ache of love tight grips the heart
In pangs of anguish sweet; and passion’s reign
Rules the body and rips the walls apart —
Oh, darling, why must one endure such pain?

As rush subsides and dreams take on their hold
The premise of the gift the present seeks —
In airy heights the mind soars free and bold
And lover’s voice the ache of love there speaks.

Your gift, my eyes have now opened,
before me, I see love wrapped, a poem,
a token, sweet words spoken.

Upon reading, my eyes are filled with
deep emotion, for what does one do,
to deserve such a gift that is treasured,

Breathe you in, inside of me, in every
breath, consuming me, to thee you hold
a love that cannot be bought, nor measured.

and so I place this gift, this beautiful,
lovely gift, deep inside my treasure box,
lock it away, allowing the flame to shine,
throughout the windows of my heart,

For you have captured the moon, the stars,
the sun for me, and they burn, lighting your
path to my heart, only for you to see, spinning
inside your universe I will be,

I will wait patiently, eternally....for your ship has placed its anchor deep inside the ocean of my heart.....my heart is your island!

Thank You~How does one compare beauty, for your words are beyond that!

The Gift of Mine Heart,
Always and Ever~~

'Tis not a play thing to be aroused
