It was a cry of love I heard, from somewhere far away
A beckoning of life’s reward, which haunted me each day
For I could not find where it came, through dreaming and in prayer
I could not find my Siren's perch and love that waited there

It was a cry not heard before, a calling to my soul
From lost and broken hearts adrift, all searching to be whole
All singing hymn together, to music so serene
Each calling out for freedoms touch and leave from where they’d been

I found then inner peace had grown, in compost of my years
From seeds of hope I’d scattered well and fertilized with tears
So I befriended souls of need who with their want had hope
And with them tried a little more and found a way to cope

So I say thank you often to the voices in my head
For words of love and words of hope that give me joy instead
For that one cry of love I heard that made me listen more
To what I am, to what we are, to more than was before

WOW, Rick...not really sure what else to say on this one...I LOVED IT!!     [There...how's that? ]  Anyway, I saw your words yesterday and didn't have the chance to reply.  [I guess that is what I get for checking this place out while at work.]  So I had to come back here and put my little thoughts down.  Thanks for sharing...and I will be keeping this one!  --  Becka
