(Just a sidenote about this.

Often when we criticize corporations, those who do are seen as anti-business or don't want American families to have jobs, etc.

That is not true at all. Me, and this poem, are not anti-business. I'm pro-responsibility, pro-respect and pro-civility. And, unfortunately, there truly are corporations out there who abuse human rights and are so very irresponsible. I boycott corporations that do just that. But if there are companies I hear to be sound, I am always proud to reward them by being a consumer.

This poem is basically a call on voicing out and demanding responsibility and respect among corporations, and when responsibility is hoodwinked, never hesitate to show your frustration by temporarily boycotting them until they accept responsibility and correct what's wrong.

God Bless America, good jobs, and good ethics and responsibility!)

Nudge Nudge, Wink Wink

Boom, like that, there goes the catch,
The jungle’s not a place to be lighting the match,
Fight fair or learn to love the latch,
You better rise early if you want to win the race with the junkyard.
Mercury mothers drink from the wells with the Bhopal kids,
Pharmeceutical primogenitors somehow keep getting away with the Judas kiss,
Democratic dodge ball forklift, class action masochist,
Do you believe we’re all a dime a dozen?

Nudge nudge, wink wink,
Nudge nudge, wink wink,
Nudge nudge, wink wink,
(hoodwink)

The streets flood with the shadows of widows with small means,
Yesterday’s orphans are now just urban legends and chicanery,
We have lost the war, while its all earnings today for the company,
Where it laid down its anchor.
The money manure is here, who’s spreading it around?
Who’s encouraging the young seedlings to grow, are they without a sound?
Paramilitaristic sirens kvetch to the union activist brouhaha about,
Here we go back to square one.

Nudge nudge, wink wink,
Nudge nudge, wink wink,
Nudge nudge, wink wink,
(hoodwink)

Oh oh, oh oh oh…
Oh oh, oh oh oh…
Oh oh, oh oh oh…
Oh oh, oh oh oh…
Oh oh…

WHOA!

ALL LAST TIME,
They’ll squeeze under the Revolution,
ALL LAST TIME,
They’ll squeeze under the Revolution,
ALL THIS TIME,
They’ll squeeze under the Revolution,
THEY'LL COME LEAPING OVER IT WHEN THE TIME COMES,
DON'T YOU WORRY NOW!

Nudge nudge, wink wink,
Nudge nudge, wink wink,
Nudge nudge, wink wink,
(hoodwink)

Interesting, Noah.

Fool, said my Muse to me, look in thy heart and write.

pretty potent poem and rhythmic chant!  There are issues that need addressing.  You have done such.  I agree, there are very responsible entrepreneurs, but others who need to think about the repercussions of their actions.  As you say, we can voice that through consumership.

I hearya, Noah. Yes, we as consumers do have a voice. Though it ofttimes be a soft one, it can be effective.

Nudge Nudge, Wink Wink!
