absent minded and bewildered
earth’s dressing station
becomes the right mood
impeccably chaste with optimism
hidden in the attics of life forms
a truth in the soil beneath my feet

romance becomes a solitary sport
breaking and entering on
an unfastened ten lane highway
with a good head of steam
like some flexed arm, thrust deep into the sea
Atoned for recompense
drinking a wilderness for centuries

knowing these unspoiled places exist

sentiments mirror a snow globe
emerging in hodgepodge
introspect, sizzling stories unleash myths sacred
illuminating our connections, those
fathomless waters and their, instinct of hum
the song of universe, that so effects
its petals spilling rich with no bottom

mountains chatter amongst themselves
about an extramarital affair
between spring and winter’s cobalt stars
like a memorizing real life Hemmingway
breathtakingly charmed with artistry & precision

fierce uncompromising truth
about the inferno of creation
the assemblage of momentary recognition
and the wild fruits of earth’s imagination, commingling…
enmeshed in some web of life
so profound, so unimaginable,
I fear getting to close

This could be heaven, & if not, can you imagine
The contemplation of it?

autumn profoundly calls with orange lungs
orchestrating break free souls
halcyon times, finely-tuned, this dream of wilderness
opening our hearts to the blood of music
deep within us…
teaming, in our nature, wild and mysterious
so..
so
full of grace
a
pattern focused

brambles of baggy green coins
lining the pockets of this big lucrative pond
this pond of essence
observing a dreamy phenomenon called
another day…

I lay still, shy…quiet, at the pulse of blood life
Knowing all. detects the scent of my breath
Nature names this loincloth, “ the skin of earth”
Always awake, even in the center of the nights
Waiting for sun to give way to night time Vikings
Those silver fields of grasses in the moonlight
Matrimonial, between ancient oaks & the Gods
Breezes of shining waters drifting past

Like a sun’s force, excited to put nails in this day
Whole of epoxy laden nature
Wiggling toward my ears, eyes, nose and mouth
As time draws forth sweetness
In a pool meant to be
over and over again
Demanding recognition

life is not human-made
and we forget that

I can remember times when I felt somewhat like this poem, but never as consistantly as you do.  You, my friend are amazingly full and uplifting with words!!

This is incredible, my friend... And I echo Marge... what I wouldn't give to have such thoughts at ANY time... my 4 a.m. thoughts tend to be mundane ones of the "you're going to be dragging all day if you don't go back to sleep" variety... but for contemplation like this, I'd gladly drag! *S*

LeeJ,
I think it is a truly great work.
Yes there are "unspoiled places"
but they disappear too quickly.

This is so far beyond true -- and this poem is a blessing.

We sure do forget it sometimes....and thank goodness for reminders!

Love this verse especially, Lee!   ...jo
