Smooth, the lingering touch, so timidly
placed upon a weathered hand.  Energizing,
mesmerizing, captivating....if but just
a dream...

I held you, ever close as a finger lightly
traced a nail and eyes glimmered
brightly in our gaze..  You touched me,
even if only a passing wishful thought,
a yearn that hungrily grew, as waters
swelled the rivers...and a dam held
that which should rage...yet lay calm,
calm as a morning mist...

Each sip, lightly taken, softly swirled,
savored in the bask of a bean’s gift,
circling the edge of smoothness,
yearning to hear again the clink of
a spoon’s rasp...as eyes dwelled
longingly...and spoke in a softness
of whispering that strained an ear,
though deftly....delicately.

Time travels swift upon the crust
of earth...letting dreams fly and fall,
rise and dip....drawing me in...into
the place where comets dance and
rainbows curve ....a place of shadows
and silver,  gold and goblets,
where all is seen....and tears often
flow around a smile once more.
