In the East the Daystar doth rise this Morn

In the East the daystar doth rise this morn,
It hues’ the skies in cerulean and rose,
How sweetly it seem the colors adorn—
—The clouds mid the Heavens which bequeathed these throes.

I woke this forenoon and sprung from my bed,
So that I might share this sunup with she,
Yet I wonder if she sees’ dawn-tinted red,
In the firmament God gifted too me.

O’ longing, sweet ache, I hunger for her kiss,
Yet ‘tis pastel sunup’s I’m to be ceded,
Certainly there’s naught that aches quite like this—
—Looks as if my prayers remain unheeded.

Still we’re bequeathed this cockcrow and our love,
And that dearest we’ll ne'er be deprived of.

a longing but still enough to hold you over

I imagine she sees it too

Those things that bond us to another are larger than the contents of a single heart.
Read this several times Kevin, each with a deeper meaning.
Great write.

Kevin - your pen drips the soft romanticism of ages past and stirs the breath with its beauty - and when you use color in the manner you do, I melt -

If ye were to bestow thy gracious words upon this maiden, thy prayers wouldst most surely be answered by sunrise next.

EV2,
Oh, what a poet and artist are you!  How can she help but see the colors of the sky if not only through the reflection of your eyes?  Yes, this is a must read.  I've read it several times and each time, I see more.
Think I'll save it in the library!  Thanks.

The colors of the sky are beautiful to the naked eye~

My naked eyes are covered by a blinding light that shinneth forth unto the widows of my soul~

what a way to wake up (with this to read)... what ? that doesn't clarify just how much i love your words? *smirk* silly me.

::: leans in close :::
this reminds me of the book i bought a few days ago filled with... love letters/poetry. and i'm going to print this to put it between the pages of that book, because it belongs beneath the cover of such a book.
